A national healthcare service provider in Manchester is seeking a Retail Supervisor to manage catering services at their newly opened hospital. The ideal candidate will have supervisory, retail, and catering experience, along with relevant food safety qualifications. Responsibilities include compliance with food safety legislation, staff training, and monitoring production levels. This role offers a dynamic work environment in mental health services.
We are looking for a dynamic person to join our team at our newly opened state of the art hospital in North Manchester.
The RetailSupervisor works as part of the Capital, Estates and Facilities Directorate supporting the Catering Manager to provide services to the patients, staff, and visitors to the Trust.
This role has responsibility for the catering services delivered from the retail unit in operation at North View and for GMMH (Greater Manchester Mental Health).
Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.
Compliance with Food Safety legislation.
Compliance with Trust Financial Systems.
Compliance with Trust Policies and Procedures
Monitoring of produce purchased and optimizing of retail sales against trends and unique offers with suppliers
Working to support the wider Catering team with menu development, utilising ethically traded and locally sourced ingredients were reasonably practicable.
Control of waste in all its aspects; and documentation of this
Ensure compliance with local HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system.
To monitor levels of production and take appropriate action to control under and over production
To maintain discipline and staff welfare in accordance with Trust policies.
Ensure that the requirements of the Trust Food Safety Policy are met, maintained, and ensure that all allergenic requirements are met
Ensure the completion of production and temperature control documentation as required.
