We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Forecast & Replenishment Team at Greggs.

Within this role, you will be an expert on the current F&R system and work on various projects covering system upgrades, weather analytics, continuously improving forecast accuracy, carrying out analysis, and supporting the team with system and forecast issues.

The role involves working alongside IT Support, Finance, and Retail to maximize system availability, minimize waste, and ensure key events are effectively planned and executed.

About the role

  • Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday
  • Occasional weekend and bank holiday work due to retail support needs
  • Flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance
  • Location: Newcastle upon Tyne; ideally within an hour's commute

What you'll do

  • Evaluate and validate large datasets, analyze trends, and manage forecasts to improve accuracy, availability, and reduce waste
  • Generate reports for the forecasting team and stakeholders, including developing scripts in Python
  • Conduct detailed analyses for events like school holidays, weather impacts, and ad hoc projects, supporting automation and system integration
  • Manage shop segmentation, including updates related to university term dates
  • Become a system expert in SAP SCM, SAP4HANA, and related tools, optimizing system settings for accurate forecasting
  • Collaborate with SAP consultants to enhance system functionality, provide training, and support system transitions
  • Utilize business reporting tools such as Business Objects, SAP, and Power BI
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams including Category, IT, Retail, Finance, and Supply Chain
  • Support the Forecast Analyst Manager and contribute to team success

About you

You will be a good fit if you:

  • Are a numerate graduate with a background in mathematics, statistics, or computer programming
  • Have experience manipulating data in Python
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop solutions
  • Are proficient with Excel and Python for data analysis and can communicate findings clearly
  • Are results-oriented with excellent planning, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Can build effective working relationships across functions
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
