Job summary

Zachary Daniels is seeking an experienced Retail Assistant Manager for a busy Bristol store. You will lead from the shop floor, drive sales and keep operations running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial sense, capable of managing rotas, stock and team performance during peak trading and promotions. Weekend work is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager in a fast-paced environment.
• Ideally from a discount retailer or another high-volume retail business.
• Comfortable working at pace and managing competing priorities.
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on sales, KPIs and productivity.
• Hands-on leader who motivates their team and leads by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the shop floor and maintain a fast, steady pace throughout the day.
• Drive sales, monitor KPIs and maximise store performance.
• Support and motivate the team to deliver results.
• Oversee stock replenishment, deliveries and stockroom organisation.
• Assist with rotas, payroll and day-to-day store operations.
• Maintain merchandising, housekeeping and operational standards.
• Support the Store Manager during peak trading and promotional activity.
