Job summary

CNTW NHS Foundation Trust in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Resuscitation Officer to lead the design, delivery and evaluation of resuscitation training and simulation across the mental health Trust. You will act as the Subject Matter Expert in resuscitation, guiding clinical teams, leadership groups and policy makers to ensure safe, evidence-based care for deteriorating patients.

Qualifications

Requirement: professional qualification (RGN, Paramedic or ODP) and current clinical experience in acute/critical/emergency care.
Desirable: recognised teaching qualification.
Completion of Resuscitation Council (UK) accredited life support course (ALS/EPALS/ILS).
Excellent knowledge of resuscitation practice and national standards.

Responsibilities

Lead on Trust-wide resuscitation and deteriorating patient training to meet national standards and compliance.
Act as the SME in resuscitation, providing advice, guidance and specialist knowledge.
Deliver Basic and Immediate Life Support training for adult and paediatric care.
Develop policy, lead audits, and contribute to clinical governance, improving patient safety and outcomes.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to resuscitation trainers and link staff.
Support staff debriefing and provide expert advice after resuscitation efforts and emergencies.
Ensure safe maintenance and effective use of resuscitation training equipment and resources.
