Job description
Resuscitation Team – Resuscitation Training Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Resuscitation Training Team, which provides timely education, training and advice on resuscitation and recognition and management of patient deterioration to both clinicians and non-clinicians throughout the Trust. We are looking for a motivated person who can work flexibly, either alone or as part of a team. The role will include teaching Emergency Life Support (ELS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) at our training venues in London (Kilburn), Uxbridge and Milton Keynes. It will also include undertaking audits and assisting simulations within wards and services across the Trust. This is a full‑time permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Support colleagues in the development of clinical skills relating to resuscitation.
  • Teach resuscitation‑related skills and practices in a variety of settings to all staff groups.
  • Deliver pre‑developed resuscitation skills training at levels one and two independently, and assess clinicians in performing basic resuscitation skills.
  • Determine competency of staff by assessing ability to perform basic life support and use of an automated external defibrillator, using an identified framework, and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Support and work with the Resuscitation Manager, Resuscitation team and the Safety team.
  • Participate in non‑teaching duties such as undertaking emergency equipment audits, as guided by the Resuscitation officers.
  • Ensure the resuscitation team’s resuscitation equipment is monitored quarterly using the available equipment log and maintained fully serviceable.
  • Be a visible and approachable source of information, advice and support to all staff in relation to resuscitation training.
Qualifications

The post holder must have some experience working within healthcare and ideally be a registered health care professional. The candidate should also have experience of teaching. The successful applicant will be based in Central London but must be willing to travel across London and Milton Keynes where the services and training are delivered.
