We have an exciting opportunity for a Respiratory Specialist Nurse to join our Primary Care team for the London Region. This brand‑new role gives you the autonomy to manage your own caseload in a unique setting.

  • HMP Wormwood Scrubs (Cat B)

Hours

Monday to Friday – 09:00 to 17:00 or 08:00 to 16:00

Full‑time; annual salary up to £63,119 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessment and treatment of patients with respiratory disease (COPD, Interstitial Lung Disease, Bronchiectasis).
  • Implement and evaluate all aspects of patient care including QoF, specialist referrals and individualised treatment plans.
  • Conduct annual long‑term condition reviews in line with Health in Justice 7A indicators.
  • Provide health promotion advice and smoking cessation support.
  • Support delivery of respiratory education and training across the HiJ London Region.
  • Educate patients to recognise early signs of change and empower independent care decisions.
Requirements
  • NMC registered Adult Nurse (or equivalent).
  • Post‑registration qualification in respiratory disease/COPD (Level 7 or above).
  • Advanced respiratory assessment skills – spirometry interpretation (ARTP certification) and FeNO certification.
  • Evidence of experience in a community setting.
  • Preferred: experience in hospital, community or prison environment.
