Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Physiologist to join the Cardio-Respiratory Department in Warrington. You will perform full lung function testing, review spirometry, and support sleep studies with overnight oximetry, contributing to ARTP-compliant reporting and CPAP management.

The role requires ARTP registration or eligibility, a BSc in Healthcare Science, and experience with PFTs and sleep medicine.

Qualifications

Bachelor level qualification in healthcare science with respiratory focus.
ARTP registration or eligibility with full practitioner status.
AHCS registration in good standing or eligibility.
Experience performing and reporting spirometry and sleep studies.
Knowledge of ARTP standards for reporting polygraphy and overnight oximetry.
Proven ability to train junior staff and supervise trainees.
Good IT literacy and ability to use clinical software.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex respiratory investigations including spirometry with reversibility and body box tests.
Review and sign off spirometry in community clinics and ensure timely report delivery.
Conduct limited channel sleep studies and overnight oximetry with analysis.
Produce complex reports on limited channel studies to ARTP standards.
Provide CPAP initiation, adjustment and follow-up as required.
Work independently or as part of a team in the Cardio-Respiratory Department.
Assist in training Trainee Clinical Physiologists and ATO staff.
Maintain health and safety standards and Caldicott guidelines.
