University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Physiologist to join the Lung Function & Sleep Service at Derriford, Plymouth. You will plan, undertake and perform a range of diagnostic assessments in line with ARTP/BTS guidelines, reporting results to referrers and contributing to patient care.
The post requires an undergraduate degree in clinical physiology or PTP, ARTP Parts I & II, and sound knowledge of respiratory physiology.
To provide a clinical role within Respiratory Physiology at Plymouth Hospitals NHS trust. Working at the CDC/ Derriford and Dartmoor building. To plan, undertake and perform simple/ specialist, and highly complex diagnostic assessments in accordance with ARTP/BTS guidelines. To provide a highly specialist technical service which contributes to the diagnosis, management and further treatment of patients. The post holder will prioritise demands, accommodate unplanned events and work without supervision. Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
To deliver Lung Function & Sleep Service to users from appropriate authorised referrals, performing a range of diagnostic tests, presenting results back to the referrer with appropriate comments or report and problem solving. To support the Senior Specialist Physiologists in developing the service. To provide educational aspects of clinical physiology within PHT including delivery of education to medical and non-medical members of the multi-disciplinary. Using a range of highly specialist equipment.
