Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Lung Function Technician to perform routine and complex spirometry, FeNo and capillary blood gas testing at Lewisham Hospital and in community settings.

The post holder will lead spirometry training, contribute to CPD, and work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective diagnostic services, prioritise referrals and help develop the service.

Qualifications

BSc in Respiratory and sleep physiology or equivalent; ARTP Spirometry certificate.
Experience of working in the NHS with asthma/COPD/sleep apnoea and performing spirometry, FeNo, and reversibility testing using MDI's.
Computer skills including Word and Excel; ability to manage own caseload and write results clearly.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine lung function investigations to a high standard within departmental guidelines.
Lead spirometry training and provide support to practitioners across settings.
Develop the service and identify cost and quality improvements where appropriate.
Perform tests including spirometry, FeNo, capillary blood gases and 6MWT when required.
Ensure safe, timely diagnostics and accurate reporting in line with policies.
