An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated, enthusiastic Respiratory nurse to work for South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust within the BREATHE service.
This community-based team provides specialist assessment and review of patients with a confirmed respiratory diagnosis.
The service is responsible for delivering specialist care to patients in their own home as well as in our community clinics and venues around Barnsley. The successful candidate will be expected to assess and treat patients with a wide variety of respiratory conditions.

While this role meets the eligibility requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship, due to the short‑term nature of the contract, the Trust will not be offering sponsorship for this post.

Work as an expert practitioner, demonstrating evidence‑based knowledge, analytical skills, and specialist assessment to triage, assess and manage a range of complex presentations.
Work autonomously assessing and managing your own clinical caseload supporting patients with a range of respiratory conditions in a community setting. This includes those requiring End‑of‑Life care and home‑oxygen assessment and therapy.
You will be expected to fully integrate yourself within the aligned neighbourhood, playing an integral role within the Respiratory pathway. This includes participating in MDTs, working alongside primary‑care colleagues, collaborating with respiratory and medical teams within secondary care and virtual ward to help facilitate early discharge and care at home, to support the provision of seamless care.
You will work as part of a team and as a lone worker and be allocated to a specific neighbourhood; however, travel and work across all neighbourhoods will be required.

Communicate effectively with other health professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure a team approach to patient care; providing explanations of any relevant cultural issues as required.
Communicate effectively with SWYPFT GP practices and health professionals in other areas.
