Job Description & Person Specification

We have a fantastic opportunity to work with our Resourcing Team within Torbay Council's Children’s Services.

The post holder will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient recruitment administration service to Children’s Services recruiting managers and candidates to support the recruitment and retention of the right candidates to enable Children’s Services workforce to deliver its services and meet its goals, objectives and aspirations.

They will act as the first point of contact for enquiries from staff, potential applicants and partner agencies and support the Recruitment and Retention team in all activities related to the recruitment and retention of Children’s Services staff.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of Children’s Social Care and of Safer Recruitment practices and would be confident in liaising with a variety of suppliers, providers, applicants and internal staff in a friendly and courteous manner.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining spreadsheets and producing reports from that information on a regular and consistent basis, therefore good Excel skills are paramount, in addition to a methodical and accurate approach to working.

We are looking for a member of the team who can be flexible and adaptable, as this is a developing role.

  • Experience of responding proactively to service needs and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing administrative support.
