Job description

Join us and you’ll be part of a fast‑paced team that provide a key function to the success of Showsec. The role provides a front‑line support service to national operations teams through engagement, co‑ordination, first touch resolution of the staffing database.

The Department is open seven days a week. The hours are set according to business needs and may vary throughout the year on a rota.

What you will be doing
  • Acting as the first point of contact for casual workers, delivering friendly, professional service and resolving queries promptly.
  • Guiding workers through the Showsec App process to encourage independent navigation rather than manual shift booking
  • Managing operational change requests (e.g., late increases, decreases, or cancellations).
  • Creating engaging adverts to mobilise the workforce for upcoming shifts.
  • Using data, judgement, and collaboration to find efficient solutions to critical staffing issues.
  • Following communication procedures and policies to provide timely, appropriate solutions and alternatives.
  • Working closely with Operations to secure full event coverage—agreeing strategies such as splitting shifts, arranging transport, and engaging approved labour providers when necessary.
  • Collaborating with other departments to address staffing gaps, for example liaising with Recruitment and Training to upskill when trends show shortages in specific areas or venues.
