Job summary

Pelican Care Group Ltd is seeking staff to support the needs of children and young people at our home in Southport, Sefton. You will actively safeguard welfare, report unsafe practices, and promote structure, boundaries and routines within the home.

You will deliver direct work and act as a key worker to support pro-social behaviour and leisure activities. The role requires you to be a positive, highly professional role model and to participate in training, supervision, and rota-based sleep-in

Qualifications

• Actively safeguard and promote welfare of children/young people.
• Work as part of a team and support less experienced staff.
• Undertake relevant training as required by regulation and company policy.
• Promote anti-discriminatory practices and participate in supervision meetings.

Responsibilities

• Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children/young people.
• Report immediately any unsafe practices and conditions.
• Promote structure, boundaries and routines within the home.
• Provide a positive role model in a professional manner.
• Work with young people on intervention strategies to promote pro-social behaviour.
• Undertake the role of a key worker for children/young people.
• Deliver direct and individual work to children/young people.
• Support young people in project and group work.
• Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with care and placement plans.
