Children and Families First Delaware Inc seeks a part-time residential counselor to support residents with daily routines, behavioral modification techniques, and safety practices.

You will provide counseling for living skills, assist with meals and personal care, document progress, and participate in recreational therapies while adhering to program policies.

Responsibilities include supervising residents, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating activities and transportation as required.

Formación

• Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field; equivalent combination considered.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences among the agency’s service population.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Maintain at least forty hours of training per year: Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, Passive Physical Restraint, Crisis Control Techniques.
• Previous counseling experience, preferably with adolescents.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and accurately.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and guide residents through daily routine using Behavioral Modification practices.
• Counsel residents in living skills, social interaction, self-care and crisis intervention as needed.
• Oversee homework and study periods; monitor library use.
• Assist with meals and monitor food choices in line with inventory procedures.
• Document and chart resident performance and behavior; compile statistics and other documentation.
• Coordinate recreational and arts therapies and escort residents to appointments.
