Job summary

Creative Support is seeking a dedicated individual to support the management of a care home in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The role involves leading a team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care, and coordinating with families and external agencies.

You will supervise staff, contribute to staff deployment and rotas, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet service needs.

Qualifications

  • Relevant social care qualification required.
  • Experience in social care for people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care or working towards it is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the service alongside the Registered Manager and Team Leader.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, deploy and rota planning.
  • Maintain regular contact with service users, families, advocates and other agencies.
  • Ensure person-centred care plans and guidelines are written and followed.
  • Promote community connections and high-quality care outcomes.

Creative Support is seeking a caring, dynamic and highly motivated individual to support the management of one of our care home provisions based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission. The service provides accommodation and 24-hour personal care and support to six individuals who have additional needs relating to mental health, physical disability, autism, challenging behaviour and/or sensory impairment. The service is also registered for the treatment of disease, disorder and injury.

You will work alongside the Registered Manager and Team Leader leading a highly committed team and contributing to the further development of our provision. The successful candidate will perform a key role in the day to day running of the service, will lead by example, and provide excellent support to people with learning disabilities and additional complex needs.

You must be a confident and accountable practitioner with the ability to put quality standards into practice. You will need to demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge of working within the social care sector in support of people with learning disabilities and additional complex needs. A relevant social care qualification is essential.

You will carry out the role demonstrating a person-centred approach with a warm, confident and professional manner. You will be expected to supervise and mentor staff. We are seeking an individual who has the passion, commitment and organisational ability to deliver excellent outcomes for people, including connecting individuals to their local community and promoting the service locally.

You will also work professionally with the families of the people we support, their advocates and other agencies. You will be expected to have regular direct contact with service users and attend person-centred reviews. You will input directly to staff deployment and rotas and are expected to work in a flexible manner, including working evenings and weekends.

You must have good communication and engagement skills and be able to demonstrate positive regard for the people we support. You must be able to write clear assessments, support plans and guidelines and work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to make a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities. This is a full-time role, 38 hours per week.
