Job summary

Ingestre Hall Residential Arts Centre is seeking an Assistant Cook to provide high-quality meals for residential groups and visitors. You will work as part of a small, dedicated team to create a welcoming environment for children, young people and adults.

You will assist with menu planning, food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards, with the flexibility to work mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience preparing meals in a commercial, educational or similar catering environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, food allergens and health and safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
• The flexibility to work mornings, evenings and weekends as required by the needs of the centre.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious, home-cooked meals for residential groups and visitors.
• Support menu planning, food preparation and kitchen operations, occasionally deputising for the Senior Cook.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen management standards.
• Assist with stock control, cleaning schedules and maintaining kitchen equipment and supplies.
• Carry out cleaning and housekeeping duties across the centre to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
