FirstPort, the UK’s leading property management company, is seeking a Residential Development Manager in Leigh-on-Sea. The role involves maintaining a high resident service standard, managing safety and records, and coordinating contractors to maintain the development.

The role includes building community ties, supporting residents’ associations, and engaging with families and local authorities. Live-in accommodation is provided, with a salary of £23,205 per year plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a client-facing role.
• Strong communication to resolve issues effectively.
• Understanding of health & safety principles and emergency readiness.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
• Organised, methodical and keeps accurate records.
• Outgoing personality with ability to build relationships and work pro-actively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development and office; ensure residents are checked per requirements.
• Carry out daily checks to keep the building safe; maintain records; manage data securely; oversee communal areas.
• Manage works: raise orders, supervise contractors, monitor progress, sign off completion.
• Encourage formation of Residents Association; work with them to enhance residents' experience and community events.
• Build links with residents' families, local authorities and health/social care partners as needed.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listings with Retirement Homesearch and help new residents settle in; welcome presence where possible.
• Collaborate with local Development Managers and travel to team/company meetings as needed.

Job Role: Residential Development Manager (Ref 26528)

Salary: £23,205.00 per annum, plus benefits

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (35 hours per week)

This is a live in position with rent-free accommodation provided.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development / office,ensure our residents are checked within our requirements.
• Carry out daily checks ensuring the building is safe and secure, Maintain records in line with internal procedures, ensure all data is protected and kept secure at all times. K eeping all communal areas, gardens and grounds clean and maintained through effective management of contractors.
• Be responsible for all works being completed, raising orders, managing contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage and support the formation of a Residents Association, and work with them to enhance the customer experience for residents, Helping build a sense of community by encouraging and supporting a Social Committee to plan and run social events for all residents.
• Build and maintain links with resident’s family members, local authorities; Doctors, Social Workers, Health Authority etc as required and appropriate.
• In the event of an emergency, call the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with our partner company Retirement Homesearch , make new residents feel welcome and help them settle in; where possible being present to welcome them.
• Work across your local peer team of Development Managers for advice and day to day support and travel to team / company meetings on a monthly / annual basis

About you

• Customer service- a passion for providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times, ideally in a face to face environment.
• Communication- a natural communicator, with the ability to resolve issues and complaints effectively
• Health & Safety- an understanding of the importance of health & safety, experience of dealing with challenging or emergency situations
• IT- able to operate Microsoft Office applications, and confident in learning new systems
• Administration- organised, methodical and experience of keeping accurate records
• Personal- an outgoing personality, with the ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and customers, self-motivated, pro-active, team oriented, and innovative.
