Job summary

FirstPort Limited in Manchester is seeking a Residential Development Manager (Ref 26770) to oversee a development site and resident relations. You will manage safety, contractor activity, and daily operations to ensure a secure, well-maintained environment while supporting residents and local stakeholders.

The role is a live-in position with rent-free accommodation and a salary of £23,205 per year, with benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer service - passion for providing an exceptional level of service.
• Clear communication - resolve issues and complaints effectively.
• Understanding of health & safety, adept with handling emergencies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, comfortable learning new systems.
• Organised and methodical administration with accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development/office and ensure residents are checked within requirements.
• Perform daily safety and security checks; keep records; protect data and maintain communal areas.
• Manage works: raise orders, supervise contractors, monitor progress and sign off completions.
• Encourage and support Residents Association; work with them to enhance resident experience and plan events.
• Build links with residents' families, local authorities, doctors and social services as required.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with Retirement Homesearch; help new residents settle in.
• Collaborate with peer Development Managers and travel to team/company meetings as needed.

Job Role: Residential Development Manager (Ref 26770)

Location: Manchester

Salary: £23,205.00 per annum, plus benefits

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (35 hours per week)

This is a live in position with rent-free accommodation provided.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development / office,ensure our residents are checked within our requirements.
• Carry out daily checks ensuring the building is safe and secure, Maintain records in line with internal procedures, ensure all data is protected and kept secure at all times. K eeping all communal areas, gardens and grounds clean and maintained through effective management of contractors.
• Be responsible for all works being completed, raising orders, managing contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage and support the formation of a Residents Association, and work with them to enhance the customer experience for residents, Helping build a sense of community by encouraging and supporting a Social Committee to plan and run social events for all residents.
• Build and maintain links with resident’s family members, local authorities; Doctors, Social Workers, Health Authority etc as required and appropriate.
• In the event of an emergency, call the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with our partner company Retirement Homesearch , make new residents feel welcome and help them settle in; where possible being present to welcome them.
• Work across your local peer team of Development Managers for advice and day to day support and travel to team / company meetings on a monthly / annual basis

About you

• Customer service- a passion for providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times, ideally in a face to face environment.
• Communication- a natural communicator, with the ability to resolve issues and complaints effectively
• Health & Safety- an understanding of the importance of health & safety, experience of dealing with challenging or emergency situations
• IT- able to operate Microsoft Office applications, and confident in learning new systems
• Administration- organised, methodical and experience of keeping accurate records
• Personal- an outgoing personality, with the ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and customers, self-motivated, pro-active, team oriented, and innovative.
