Job summary

Key Legal Conveyancing, based in Darlington, is seeking a Residential Conveyancer to manage a full caseload of freehold and leasehold residential property transactions from instruction to completion in a full-time, on-site role.

You will take client instructions, advise on legal issues, prepare and review contracts and other documents, and handle searches, enquiries, and reports, coordinating with clients, agents, lenders and solicitors to ensure timely completions.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law and practical experience with residential conveyancing matters.
• Skills in Legal Consulting, including advising clients clearly on legal risks and options.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, such as contracts, transfer deeds, and reports on title.
• Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and manage Legal Issues throughout the conveyancing process.
• Previous experience handling a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines.
• Familiarity with conveyancing case management systems and standard property searches.
• Relevant legal qualification (e.g., Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or equivalent experience) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take client instructions and advise on legal issues.
• Prepare and review contracts and other legal documents.
• Handle searches, enquiries, and reports to progress transactions.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors to move matters forward.
• Oversee exchange and completion processes and maintain file records.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of internal procedures and client service standards.
