Job description
Role Overview

Carraig View is tucked away in the heart of Port Glasgow with beautiful views over the Clyde, but it is what happens inside that really matters. Since opening our doors in 2021, we have been supporting children and young people to settle, grow, and find their place in the world. Whether it is through school, local clubs, or simple everyday routines, we are here to help young people build the confidence and skills they need to thrive.

At CrossReach, everyday moments like sharing a meal, playing a game or walking along the beach become powerful ways to build trust and brighten young lives.

Responsibilities

You’ll be part of a warm, community‑based team, working in small houses and supporting children through daily routines, emotional ups and downs, and care plans shaped just for them. Your role is to help them feel safe, valued, and ready to thrive again. The house works to a 3‑week rolling rota basis, meaning you will work a mixture of early and late shifts as well as weekly sleepover shifts, although these can change slightly depending on the needs of the young people at the time.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re ideally looking for someone with an HNC in Social Care and an SVQ Level 3, along with experience in care or education. A full manual driving licence is essential as outings are part of the job. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a kind, patient and compassionate approach, who truly wants to make a difference.

Requirements

As we do our work in Christ’s name this post requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010. You will also need to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, undertake the necessary vetting checks, and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). You must also hold the appropriate permission to work in the UK.

Benefits
  • Access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card.
  • Generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit.
  • Enhanced family‑friendly policies to balance work and family.
  • Health cash plan providing cash‑back for a wide range of health treatments.
  • Care concierge service to assist with life’s challenges.
Training & Development

We offer full training, a supportive team, and the chance to be part of something really meaningful. We also support your training and development, including a contribution to professional membership fees.
