Children's Residential Support Worker

Location : Broxbourne

Job Type : Full-Time / Part-Time / Bank

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are looking for dedicated, nurturing and resilient Residential Support Workers to join our team in a warm, stable and child-centred home.

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing emotional, social and practical support to children and young people aged 5- 18 who may present with challenging behaviours or have experienced trauma. You\'ll be part of a committed team working to create a safe, supportive and structured environment where every child can grow and thrive.

What You\'ll Be Doing
  • Providing daily care, guidance and positive role-modelling
  • Supporting children with routines, education, personal development and life skills
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with young people
  • Managing challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent and therapeutic way
  • Ensuring the home remains a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment
  • Keeping clear records and following safeguarding procedures
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, social workers and external professionals
What We\'re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people (residential, SEN, youth work, education or similar)
  • A compassionate, patient and resilient approach
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people
  • Flexibility
Desirable (but not essential)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent
  • Team Teach / MAPA / PBM training
  • Full UK driving licence
