Job summary

Outcomes First Group's Falkland House School Perth is recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker to support young people with autism and additional support needs. You'll help with daily routines, independence, and community activities, while building confidence and resilience.

The role is full-time and permanent (38 hours per week) with a mix of early, late and long shifts on a rolling rota. A Full UK Driving Licence is essential, and induction plus funded training to support SSSC registration

Role: Residential Childcare Worker

Location: Falkland House School Perth, Fairmount Terrace, Perth, PH2 7AR

Salary: Up to £27,831.68 per annum (dependent on qualifications)

Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (38 hours per week) | A mixture of early (07:30 - 14:30), late (14:00-22:00) and double (07:30-22:00) shifts on a three week rolling rota.

Essential: Full UK Driving Manual Licence

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting children and young people with daily routines, independence and personal development.
• Planning and taking part in fun, engaging activities after school, at weekends and during school holidays.
• Supporting young people to access community activities, develop life skills and build confidence.
• Creating a warm, safe and nurturing home environment where young people feel valued and supported.
• Building positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
• Encouraging positive behaviour using therapeutic, relationship-based approaches.
• Working closely with education and clinical colleagues to provide consistent, holistic support.
• Maintaining accurate records and helping deliver the highest standards of care and safeguarding.

We're Looking for Someone Who Has

We're looking for people with compassion, resilience and a genuine desire to help young people succeed.

Experience in residential care, education or supporting children is welcomed, but it's not essential. If you've worked in hospitality, retail, the armed forces, outdoor education, customer service, youth work or another people-focused role, your transferable skills could make you an excellent Residential Childcare Worker.

The Location

Falkland House School Perth is an independent residential school for boys and girls aged from 12 - 20. Our young people have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society. We have can accommodate up to 24 young people.
