Job summary

Barnsley Council is recruiting for a permanent role within Children in Care. The post requires you to provide high-quality care to children and young people, ensuring safety and well-being, and supporting development and education in a residential setting.

The role involves 24/7 care on a rota, flexing to Early, Afternoon and Night shifts, with DBS enhanced checks and safeguarding responsibilities. English language proficiency is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for children and young people in residential settings is desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
• Ability to work as part of a team and cover shift patterns including evenings, weekends and sleep duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of care and support to children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Work within children’s homes on a rota basis (Early, Afternoons, Nights) including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
• Contribute to education, health and well-being goals and promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
