Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with Middlesbrough College who are recruiting for a Residential Childcare Assessor on a permanent basis.

Salary: £29,941 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Middlesbrough

Hours: Full Time

Job Purpose

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and assessment, ensuring that learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and qualifications needed to excel in the field of Residential Childcare. Overseeing a caseload of students undertaking Residential Childcare qualifications, you will provide engaging learning programmes and assessments, supporting them in successfully completing their Level 3 qualification and End-Point Assessment. You will collaborate closely with employers, offering essential guidance to learners as they strive towards their goals, while inspiring them to overcome challenges and barriers along the way.

Responsibilities
  • To plan, conduct and participate in induction and Skills Scans of learners to identify realistic learning priorities and, in liaison with the employer, develop individual learning plans and agree realistic completion targets.
  • Planning, Delivery and Assessment of Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours to successfully achieve the Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards
  • To support and deliver assessing/assessment of students work and evidence for both the Residential Childcare level 3 Diploma and the Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards
  • To deliver teaching and learning in a classroom environment for both the Residential Childcare level 3 Diploma and the Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards
  • To provide information, advice and guidance to learners and employers to promote learning and timely achievement of the agreed learning aims and SMART objectives.
  • To plan and support the apprentice to successfully achieve their End Point Assessment for Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards
  • To maintain a minimum caseload learner to enable them to achieve qualifications and standards, including developing Business with existing employers and identifying new opportunities.
  • Support the continued evaluation of learning needs and objectives, through regular review and attendance as required at best practice groups.
  • To establish a purposeful learning environment, where learners feel safe, secure, confident and valued.
  • To meet targets, whether they are locally or contractually agreed and support the organisation in the delivery of its' corporate strategy and annual business plan.
  • Monitor and review learners' progress in the workplace to ensure the achievement of qualification standards.
  • To contribute to the performance management of the programme, monitoring key performance indicators, such as learner numbers, attendance, timeliness of achievement.
  • To participate in the continuous improvement cycle through programme and self-assessment reviews, attendance at staff meetings, working groups, development projects and activities.
  • Market & promote Middlesbrough College Group services to identify potential learners and employers to effectively contribute to the recruitment of learners.
What we are looking for
  • A minimum of Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • Assessor awards or equivalent or happy to work towards
  • Grade C/4 or higher in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing skills and behaviours within residential childcare environments.
  • Experience of working in a Residential Childcare setting/home - Essential
  • A proven history of consistently meeting performance targets.
