Job summary

CareTech Community Services in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior support worker to guide a team of care staff, support daily routines for young people, and ensure the highest level of care. You will supervise shifts, document care plans in an electronic recording system, and help with activities and reporting.

A Level 3/4 qualification and a UK manual driving licence are essential, with shifts including weekends and sleep-ins.

Job description

As a senior support worker you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.

• Supervise and mentor a team of support workers
• Ensure our children receive the highest level of support
• Support home management team with timely updates
• An average of 8 overnight sleep-ins per month
• Promote individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach
• Monitoring of care plans and producing reports for the managers
• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and join fun activities like day trips, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects and activities
• New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people's records accurately. Training will be provided but all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
• You’ll have experience of supervising staff in a similar role within children’s residential
• Level 3/4 qualification in Children’s Residential/Children’s Workforce
• Manual UK driving licence is essential
• Experience of supporting team members
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Ability to cover shifts flexibly, including weekends on a rota

£41,346 per year (includes base salary + sleep-in allowances)

Base Salary: £33,830 PLUS £78.30 per sleep-in. Based on approximately 8 sleep-ins per month, you will top up your earnings by £7516 annually. A full manual UK driving licence is required for this role and we are not able to offer sponsorship.
