Resident Quality Technician

Location: Wolverhampton

Hours: 36.5 hours per week

About the Role

We're looking for a Resident Quality Technician to act as the key link between the customer and the production teams, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout production and project activities. You'll play an active role in resolving quality issues, supporting problem-solving, and ensuring containment activities are carried out effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate problem definitions (Level Zero) reported by the customer to ensure issues are clearly understood and challenged where needed.
  • Carry out containment activities at the customer site under supervision.
  • Coordinate with the plant to quickly supply approved stock to minimise production impact.
  • Liaise with the internal teams to assist with concern checks and issue resolution.
  • Support project teams with line trials, inspections, and pre-series containment work.
  • Produce build appraisals to provide insight into how parts integrate into customer vehicles.
  • Prepare and issue daily resident quality reports.
  • Support other UK sites as needed for customer containment and confirmation work.
About You
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with people across all levels at the customer site.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Good understanding of quality core tools and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good working knowledge of metal forming and fabrication processes is desirable.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Educated to a minimum ONC level in an engineering or manufacturing discipline (HNC preferred).
  • Ideally completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience within a quality function in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
