This role is critical in maintaining safety standards across our housing stock of over 5,000 properties.

Your primary focus will be assisting with hard-to-access properties, working closely with residents to gain entry and ensure compliance checks, such as gas servicing, electrical testing, water hygiene, and lift inspection are carried out within statutory timescales.

What you’ll do
  • Act as the main liaison between residents and the council for compliance-related appointments.
  • Proactively manage and resolve access issues, including arranging alternative times and supporting vulnerable residents.
  • Monitor compliance schedules and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
  • Work collaboratively with the Gas and Electrical Manager, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate works.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Promote resident engagement and satisfaction through clear, empathetic communication.
About you
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to build trust and overcome access challenges.
  • Knowledge of housing compliance requirements (gas safety, electrical testing, water hygiene, fire safety).
  • Experience in resident liaison, customer service, or compliance coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Competence in using IT systems for scheduling and reporting.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the district.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting vulnerable customers and resolving complex access issues.
  • Understanding of social housing regulations and compliance frameworks.
What is in it for you
  • Hybrid Working
  • A Cycle to Work scheme which could save you around 40 percent on cycles and accessories
  • Local Government Pension Scheme and AVC provision
  • Employee Assistance Programme (free 24 hour legal, financial and personal advice for employees).
  • 37 hours working hours per week
  • 26 Days annual leave (plus an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service)
  • Wide range of employee discounts at high street retailers, including supermarkets, stores and restaurants.
