Job summary

Cardiff Met is seeking welcoming and enthusiastic students to join our halls teams as Resident Assistants. RAs live in our halls and help create a safe, inclusive community, supporting peers as they settle into university life and act as a key link between residents and University services.

You'll support daily hall operations, assist with events, inductions and Open Days, attend training, and help residents feel informed and connected. Applications may be submitted in Welsh or English.

  • Open to current Cardiff Met students who live in or are willing to live in university halls.

  • Acting as a key link between residents and hall staff, gathering feedback and escalating concerns or issues where appropriate.
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the halls through office-based duties, responding to general enquiries and assisting students, visitors and parents.
  • Assisting with events, inductions, Open Days and other activities that help build a strong sense of community.
  • Attending training sessions and staff development activities.

Job description

We are looking for welcoming and enthusiastic students to join our halls teams. Resident Assistants live within our halls of residence and play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive community for students.

As an RA, you will support students as they settle into university life, provide peer support, help deliver community events and act as a key link between residents and University services. Working closely with the Halls Management Team, Security and other support services, you will help ensure residents feel informed, connected and supported throughout their time in halls.

You’ll make a difference by:

What you'll bring

This role is open to current Cardiff Metropolitan University students who live in, or are willing to live in, University halls of residence. If you do not currently have a halls booking, accommodation will be available.

You will play an active role in building a positive and supportive halls community, helping fellow students settle into university life and feel connected to those around them. You will bring enthusiasm, approachability and strong communication skills, alongside the professionalism needed to support residents and work collaboratively with the Halls Management Team and wider University services to help deliver a positive student experience.
