Job summary

Yugo in London is seeking an experienced Residence Manager to lead a 350-bed student housing operation at The Curve. You will guide a team, manage the budget, and ensure exceptional service for our student community.

You will build relationships with local universities, optimise occupancy through short- and long-term lets, and uphold health and safety standards in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience running a residence within hotels, hospitality, or student accommodation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in fast-paced, target-driven environment with focus on sales/marketing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and guide the team to ensure the student space runs smoothly.
• Take full responsibility of the budget and P&L, and the financial performance of the student space.
• Manage costs and maximize profit for the property.
• Follow up on sales opportunities and ensure occupancy through short-term and long-term lets.
• Maintain high standards through regular inspections with the team.
• Handle complaints and provide excellent customer service to students.
• Oversee health and safety responsibilities and water hygiene compliance.
• Develop relationships with local universities and suppliers.

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Residence Manager to join the team in our state-of-the-art purpose-built student housing. Located in London with 350 beds.

It's a big job but you will be part of a team of awesome Residence Managers across the globe, who will support you to ensure we are consistent in the service we provide to our students.

Reporting to the Area Manager here's what you’ll do:

• Use your upbeat, outgoing personality to lead, mentor and guide the team to ensure that the student space is running smoothly
• Take full responsibility of the budget and P&L, and the financial performance of the student space.
• You’ll cross all the T's and dot the I's, to and ensure you are managing costs and maximizing profit for the property
• Follow up on all sales opportunities and ensure the student space is at capacity through short term and long term lets
• You have exceptionally high standards, and this is reflected in the overall presentation of the property, you will manage this through regular inspections and working with your awesome team
• Manage 'the good' and turn around the 'not so good' - meaning you will handle complaints and offer excellent customer service to your students
• Use your advanced knowledge of safety, security, compliance and building management to ensure core operating procedures are adhered to, followed up on and we are providing a safe secure home to our students
• Maintain and develop relationships with key players at the local universities, as well as internal and external suppliers - again here is that winning personality!
• Along with the day to day activities within your role, you will also be required to manage your health and safety responsibilities as set out in Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974, where it states that you have a duty to take care of yourself and those around you, by your acts or omissions and to cooperate with your employer on health and safety matters.
• Act as the responsible person for water hygiene, ensuring safe management and compliance of site water systems, assisting in arranging any remedial actions or water testing required following Legionella Risk Assessments, and ensuring the site remains compliance with the Yugo Water Hygiene Management Plan

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain quality relationships
• Experience within a fast paced, target driven environment with strong focus on sales and marketing
