Job summary

A premier hotel in Braemar is seeking an experienced Reservationist for a maternity cover position. You will ensure exceptional guest experiences from initial enquiry to booking. This involves handling reservations, collaborating with the Concierge team, and meeting revenue targets. Candidates should have previous luxury hospitality experience, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to service. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with LQA or Forbes standards is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Handle hotel room and restaurant reservation enquiries professionally.
  • Convert enquiries into bookings to maximize revenue.
  • Collaborate with Concierge team to enhance guest experiences.
  • Meet performance targets including room revenue goals.
  • Ensure accuracy in reservation data and guest profiles.
  • Respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
  • Conduct pre-arrival checks in line with procedure.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel services and offerings.
  • Communicate effectively with Reservations and Front Office teams.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Reservationist to join our award-winning team.

About the Role

As a Reservationist at The Fife Arms, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience from the moment of enquiry. With a flair for hospitality and a sharp eye for detail, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our guests—ensuring their journey with us begins seamlessly and memorably.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Handling hotel room and restaurant reservation enquiries with professionalism and efficiency
  • Converting enquiries into bookings to maximise room and overall revenue
  • Collaborating closely with our Ghillie (Concierge) team to enhance guest experiences and drive internal sales
  • Meeting or exceeding room revenue and performance targets, including LQA Mystery Shopping call goals
  • Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all reservation data and guest profiles
  • Responding to all enquiries promptly—ideally within the same day, and no later than 24 hours
  • Conducting thorough pre-arrival checks in line with operating procedures
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of room categories, hotel services, experiences, and F&B offerings
  • Ensuring clear and seamless communication between the Reservations and Front Office teams
About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual who brings:

  • Previous experience in a similar luxury hospitality environment, with LQA/Forbes is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Opera Cloud (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work under pressure
  • A natural passion for delivering exceptional guest service
  • A willingness to learn and grow within a creative and ambitious team
