Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets in London is seeking an Actuarial Analyst, Reserving to support the Syndicate’s reserving function with accurate analyses and models.

You will produce and reconcile results on gross and reinsurance bases, prepare quarterly reserving materials, and maintain reserving models while collaborating with stakeholders across the business. The role requires mathematics or actuarial background and at least two years of reserving experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an actuarial reserving role.
• Highly developed mathematical / statistical knowledge.
• Willingness to further increase knowledge of Reserving and Reporting related matters and key market topics and develop technical and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Best Estimate and Syndicate reserving by producing, reconciling and analysing results on gross and reinsurance bases.
• Prepare and present reserving results for quarterly meetings and the Reserving Sub Committee.
• Run and review allocation of reserving outputs to meet internal and regulatory reporting requirements, sometimes under time pressure.
• Support team members with stakeholder requests and queries across the business.
• Monitor the Syndicate's claims experience via actual vs. expected analyses and document findings.
• Maintain and enhance actuarial reserving models, including annual parameter updates and model development for new classes.
• Assist with annual reserve report, benchmarking, and deep-dive reserving investigations.
• Contribute to other Reporting and Reserving tasks as needed.
• Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
