Special Risks Analysis(SRA)maintainsthe world’s largest database of kidnap-for-ransom incidents, which underpins our industry-leading analysis.Thesuccessful Researcherwillcarry outdaily research;load incidentstoour databaseand cleanse datatoensure the operational integrity of the team’s analysis;as well ascontributeresearch andanalysis to oursubscriptionsplatform, basic consultingtasksand casework.
Requirements
What You’ll Do:
Database
- Maintain our database of kidnap-for-ransom incidents, believed to be the most comprehensive database of such crimes in the world.
- Assist with updating database records of past cases to improve capability for future operations.
Research and analysis
- Conduct comprehensive researchtoidentifykidnap-for-ransom and extortion incidents to load on the database.
- Identifyinformation of relevance toshare withtheSeniorAnalysts, Response Management team orConsultants.
- Write analysis for our flagship subscription platform,Seerist, in the form of writing updates and refreshing background content.
- Carry out research to support Control Risks’advice to clients during live kidnap and extortion cases
- Support the regionalAnalysts with research for clients on consulting tasks
- Identifyrelevantopportunitiesforimproving data capture
- Contributeto the improvement of research techniques
Who You Are:
- Previousexperiencewithresearchanddata/informationhandling
- An interest in international affairs, particularly security and theimpact of extortive crime on the business environment
Preferred
- Knowledge of security dynamics in the MENA and APAC regions, and the impact on business operations
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Ability to carry out research inFrench, Spanish, or Arabic
- Competence in the Office 365 suite of platforms, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail anda high levelof accuracy
- Ability to understand and summariselarge amountsof information
- Ability to work with a team and on own initiative
- Ability to carry out research in any otherforeign language
