Overview

We are looking for a Researcher, Device Data to join our Scientific Data & Insight Function within the Safety & Surveillance group. The role is a full‑time 12 month fixed term contract based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. The position can only be worked in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Execute and deliver literature reviews on device safety and surveillance methods globally.
  • Use R, Python, Julia, or SQL to characterise real‑world data sources for device safety and surveillance.
  • Provide analyses of population demographics for devices in the UK.
  • Communicate research outcomes to a wider audience, including senior leaders.
Qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent experience in epidemiology, medical statistics or a related discipline.
  • In depth understanding of epidemiological principles and statistical concepts and experience of applying this in practice.
  • Experience of research using health related data sources.
  • Competence in using programming tools such as R, Python, Julia, or SQL to characterise or analyse health data.
  • Proven ability to independently produce well‑focused scientific reviews and presentations.
Benefits
  • Salary of £46,160 with a pension contribution of £13,372 towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
  • Annual leave: 25 days on entry, rising by one day for each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days and pro‑rata for part‑time staff.
  • 8 bank holidays and 1 day of privilege leave.
  • Hours of work: 37 hours net per week for full‑time staff.
  • Occupational sick pay: one month full pay on entry, rising by one month for each completed year of service to a maximum of five months full pay.
