MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
We are looking to recruit a Research Support Assistant to join a project at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), funded in a BlueSky collaboration with AstraZeneca (AZ). The post holder will work for Dr Piotr Kolata in the group of Dr Matteo Allegretti, to investigate nuclear-cytoskeletal coupling.
Specifically, the post holder will design, express and purify variants of protein complexes involved in nuclear-cytoskeletal coupling, characterise the variants biochemically and biophysically, as well as assess their phenotypes in mammalian cell lines with confocal microscopy. The post holder will be trained in a variety of cutting-edge biochemical, biophysical and cell biology methods to achieve the project goals.
Applicants must have a BSc in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related subject. Candidates must have lab experience. An MSc in a related subject is highly desirable. A commitment and interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative work are essential.
