A leading research institute in the United Kingdom seeks a Postdoctoral Scientist in Bioinformatics to develop computational methods for microbiome and omics data analysis. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration, advanced data analysis, and contributing to scientific publications. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist in Bioinformatics to join a collaborative team working on the development of next-generation computational methods for microbiome and metaproteomics data analysis.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in computational biology, bioinformatics, and AI-driven data analysis, with applications to large-scale omics datasets. This position focuses on developing and applying innovative workflows for metaproteomics and multi-omics integration to advance precision microbiome research and intervention strategies.
The post holder will work closely with a multidisciplinary group of researchers and have access to state-of-the‑art infrastructure at the Quadram Institute, including metagenomics, metaproteomics, and metabolomics facilities. The primary focus is to design, implement, and optimise computational pipelines and machine learning models to interpret microbiome functions and their impact on host health, with applications in precision nutrition and medicine.
The post holder will work closely with the Group Leader (Kai Cheng), other group members, and key collaborators at QIB. They will also engage with the Bioinformatics Team.
PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a relevant field (essential).
Salary range: £37,500 to £41,500 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full‑time post for a contract of two years.
