Overview

Band 6 Research Nurse in Haematology Research.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Oncology and Haematology research team at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities

The role supports the haematology research portfolio and may cover related areas as demand arises.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting all aspects of trial organisation from set‑up to completion as an integrated member of the clinical research team.
  • Maintaining clinical skills such as venepuncture, blood sample processing, measuring blood pressure and recording 12‑lead ECGs.
  • Direct patient contact and coordination of patient visits.
  • Planning, attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
Qualifications and Training

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse, State Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, or Diploma/Degree in a relevant area.
  • Demonstrated ongoing personal development and applying it to practice in a relevant healthcare setting.
  • Awareness of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and EU directive 2001.
  • Knowledge of clinical research practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Good Clinical Practice certification.
  • Regular experience of taking charge and delegating duties.
  • Direct experience in Oncology/Haematology research.
  • Experience working on complex interventional research studies.
  • Experience working with Oncology/Haematology patients.
  • Experience working in clinical research.
