Overview

Mendip Vale Medical Group (MVMG) is seeking an additional Research Nurse to join our expanding team. This opportunity comes as we continue to grow our research portfolio across our friendly and innovative practices, serving over 85,000 patients across 10 sites in North Somerset, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire.

Responsibilities

• Set‑up, maintenance and close‑down of studies, including commercial trials and NIHR Portfolio studies, ensuring compliance with local, national and international regulations.
• Recruit, educate and monitor patients participating in clinical trials, working closely with the Lead Research Partner and multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate logistics for patient visits, perform patient assessments, conduct required screening procedures and maintain study documentation in accordance with ICH‑GCP, ISO 14155 and relevant legislation.
• Support safe and effective conduct of clinical studies, ensuring site files are high‑standard and studies delivered on time and aligned with agreed targets.

Person Specification

Essential

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge and evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Broad clinical knowledge and experience working within a research team, engaging in commercial research trials.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and experienced user of medical software packages.
• Understanding of evidence‑based practice and ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice.

Desirable

• Proficient in sample preparation and centrifugation techniques.
• Experience of presenting information to a wider audience and effective use of networking and influencing skills.
