TheReproductive Health and Childbirth Research Team is recruiting!

TheResearch and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. Wehave several research specialities and the Reproductive Health and Childbirthresearch portfolio is looking for a Band 6 Research Midwife (Maternity LeaveCover).

Itis a full time post (1.0 WTE), with a temporary contract (12month maternitycover). This post will be based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Thepost holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, anddelivery of the Reproductive Health and Childbirth Research Portfolio. Themain tasks are:

Coordinatingthe setup and delivery of research studies

Supportingrecruitment, consent, and followup of participants

Usingcore midwifery clinical skills to support safe study delivery

Inaddition of being responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinicalcare planning, delivery, safety, and patient satisfaction are to a very highstandard, compliance with Trust policy, study protocol requirements, localand national guidance and legislation is required.

Main duties of the job

Weare looking to recruit a proactive and selfmotivated individual with a keeninterest in research to work within the Reproductive Health and ChildbirthResearch Team.

Thepostholder will:

Supportthe delivery of highquality clinical research across the reproductive healthand childbirth research portfolio

Workcollaboratively with clinical teams to identify, recruit, and follow upresearch participants

Useappropriate clinical skills to ensure safe and effective delivery of researchstudies

Thepost holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, theNational Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN)Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments,attending regional and national meetings as required. They will contribute tostudy setup, data collection, documentation, and regulatory compliance,ensuring that all research activity is conducted in line with Trust policy,study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and national legislation. Therole requires excellent communication, organisational skills, and the abilityto work independently as well as part of a team to support the safe andefficient delivery of research.

Job responsibilities

Thepost holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination anddelivery of the Research Portfolio, under the leadership of the

SeniorResearch Nurse/Midwife/AHP. Working effectively with the immediate and

broadermultidisciplinary team (MDT), being responsible for ensuring that high

standardsof clinical care planning, delivery, safety and patient satisfaction is to avery

highstandard, compliant with Trust policy, study protocol requirements, local and

nationalguidance and legislation.

Thepost holder will support the Senior Research Nurse/Midwife/AHP, Principle

Investigatorsand associated multidisciplinary colleagues in the planning, scheduling,

conduct,recruitment, patient care, support and data collection required for allstudies

withinthe department. They will be responsible for developing their own clinical

practice,maintaining competencies (related to the research portfolio) and where

appropriatetaking delegated responsibility for the clinical elements of studies in line

withTrust policies and study protocols.

Workingeffectively and proactively with agreed external agencies and collaborative

partners,the individual will adhere to agreed study pathways and processes to

deriveaccurate and robust data capture, and ensure pharmacovigilance is

maintained.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Level 1or 2) (RN Adult for adult areas and RN Child for childrens areas), Midwife or HCPC AHP or Clinical Research Practitioner registered (including registration to AHCS)
  • Recognised teaching/assessing qualification
  • Research qualification (e.g. certificate/MSc in clinical research
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (in some specific roles this may be an essential requirement for Registered Nurses and Midwife)
Experience
