Job description

We are recruiting an interim Research Grant Officer to manage the financial operations of a diverse research portfolio at a prestigious London university. The post holder will have the full responsibility for post-award processes.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of research grants and contracts, including claims
  • Calculate and allocate overheads, indirect, and estates costs to departments
  • Keep accurate account reconciliations and handle financial data for reporting
  • Generate invoices and prepare financial statements for sign-off
  • Respond to queries from departments and credit control
  • Review monthly exception reports and take corrective action
  • Support account reviews and ensure obligations are met before closure
Experience required:
  • Experience working in a post award capacity within a higher education setting
  • Experience and knowledge of costing methodologies including FEC
  • Excellent numerical skills and the ability to do complex calculations, manipulate and present financial data

Hourly rate: £26.50 - £29

Duration: 6 months

Location: London (hybrid working with 2 days on site)
