Ecology Jobs is seeking a research entomologist to join the multi-university London and South-East (LASE) University Group through the Agriculture, Health and Environment department. The role involves behavioural bioassays and electrophysiological studies on arthropods, with opportunities to teach at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

You will work in a dynamic team, contribute to high-impact publications, and conduct fieldwork in the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

• PhD in entomology or a closely related field.
• Strong background in behavioural entomology or arthropod chemical ecology.
• Experience with bioassays and electrophysiological assays on arthropods.
• Ability to contribute to scholarly outputs and grant applications.

Responsabilités

• Carry out behavioural bioassays with terrestrial arthropods to measure responses to chemical and other stimuli.
• Perform electrophysiological assays (electroantennography, single sensillum recording).
• Conduct behavioural bioassays in olfactometers and wind tunnels.
• Work with the technical team to maintain colonies of arthropods in insectaries.
• Undertake field work in the UK and for short periods abroad.
• Contribute to publications and future funding applications; opportunities for teaching at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
