Job summary

DRW is a diversified trading firm seeking a Research Engineer to join its systematic research team. You will work with technologists, researchers, and traders to solve computing problems across software design, data engineering, distributed computing, and quantitative modeling.

You should have a Bachelor's in CS/CE or related field and excellent C++ and Python skills, with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and quantitative finance mathematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent software development skills in modern C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Solid grounding in programming with clear communication and coding.
• Solid understanding of computer systems at all levels including hardware, OS, memory, and networks.
• Experience with multithreaded applications and long-term software adoption.

Responsibilities

• Work with researchers to implement studies, simulate trading strategies, and develop algorithms.
• Design trading strategy simulation software optimized for distributed computing.
• Develop software for large-scale data acquisition, storage, accessibility, and visualization.
• Create user interfaces for data exploration and post-trade analysis.
• Accelerate the research lifecycle from prototype to production deployment.
• Evaluate new technology and improve the technology stack.
