Job Opportunity: Engine Development Technician

Contract: 12-month rolling contract

Location: On manufacturing site in Peterborough

Rate: £20.38 PAYE - Pension and Holiday

We are looking for a Engine Development or Power-train Development Technician to join our clients manufacturing site in Cambridgeshire, where we design and manufacture Cat® and Perkins engines for diverse applications, from marine to industrial. We're committed to sustainability and innovative energy solutions for a greener future.

The successful applicant will support the companies advanced research and product development in electrification, powertrain, diesel, and hybrid systems. You'll collaborate closely with the engineering leads and play a key role in product testing and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct build, strip, and measure activities on advanced components.
  • Support engineers and communicate detailed feedback.
  • Perform electrical safety checks and testing.
  • Analyse data and report on product concerns.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvements and facility requirements.
Qualifications
  • Completed a relevant Electrical/Mechanical qualification (apprenticeship, HNC, or degree).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in an electrical/electronic engineering role.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
Preferred Experience
  • Deep familiarity with electric and hybrid vehicles, as a development technician or engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with transmission, power systems, testbed work on engines, rigs, software and diagnostics.
