Job summary

University of Oxford invites applications for a Research Data Integration and Software Developer within Oxford Cancer, a city‑wide research initiative. The role focuses on developing and maintaining cancer data information systems that underpin precision medicine projects, leveraging high‑throughput processing, HPC, and scalable databases.

You will work with researchers across the UK, contribute to multiple projects, manage data integration solutions and support client‑facing software systems,

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification with significant CS/Bioinformatics component or relevant degree with enterprise IT experience.
• Experience with R/Python pipelines for data processing and analytics.
• Experience in planning, development, rollout and support of client-facing software systems.
• Experience designing data integration solutions and data models for research environments.
• Experience of Unix systems and operating under high computational load.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cancer data information systems and software frameworks.
• Support database, web systems, and high-throughput data processing
• Work with HPC clusters, storage, databases and web apps for data integration.
• Collaborate with Oxford researchers and partners across the UK.
• Contribute to lifecycle of projects from design to deployment and support.
