Job description
Data Manager (Research & Development)

The Data Manager will have a key operational role in supporting Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust as a spoke site in the new South London Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC). Embedded within the Trust's Research and Development team, the postholder will be responsible for delivering a range of commercial and non‑commercial research studies from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Portfolio, working with local clinical study teams, investigators and CRDC colleagues. The postholder will support research nurses/practitioners and medical staff in the collection and processing of clinical trial data for studies running within the CRDC.

Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously under the direction of the relevant research team leader.
  • Collate data produced by the clinical teams and enter it appropriately into paper or electronic case report forms (CRFs).
  • Liaise with trial sponsors to ensure timely transfer of data, resolve any data queries and facilitate monitoring visits.
  • Work within the guidelines of ICH GCP and local SOPs at all times.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of investigator site files and databases of clinical trial activity.
  • Assist with basic trial administration, collection and processing of biological samples, and recruitment to some studies.
  • Develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials.
Location

This post will be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich; however, it is a cross‑site role and the postholder will be expected to work across all Trust and South London CRDC sites.
