Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Research Data Engineer to join our Data team. You will build end-to-end data pipelines, onboarding vendor data, cleaning, validating, normalizing, and featurizing data for alpha research, ensuring high-quality service with rigorous data checks.

You will work directly with researchers to create datasets that power research and automated trading, developing expertise in data domains and how alpha is built from careful analysis.

• Manage the full end-to-end data pipeline, from raw vendor ingestion to refined feature sets.
• Provide on-call support for data issues during normal business hours.
• Design and implement automated data quality checks and monitoring alerts.

Job description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Research Data Engineer to join our Data team. Data is a cornerstone of HRT’s trading strategies, serving as the raw fuel that powers research, automated trading, and risk management.
You will be responsible for developing the end to end of onboarding vendor data, cleaning and validating, normalizing, and featurizing the data for alpha research, as well as ensuring high-quality service via rigorous data checks and alerts.
HRT does not have information siloes! You will work directly with researchers to build datasets that add value to our trading strategies while developing expertise in one area of data and how alpha is built from careful data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, normalize, and featurize datasets for statistical modeling research
• Serve as the subject matter expert for datasets you onboard, building expertise in some area of data

The estimated base salary range for this position is 200,000 to 300,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
