Job summary

Lancaster University is seeking a Research Associate in Synthetic Chemistry to join the Department of Chemistry on a full-time basis. The role is indefinite, subject to funding, with a project focused on creating materials for sustainable agriculture and leveraging spectroscopy and other techniques.

The successful candidate will work in a wet chemistry lab, uphold health and safety standards, and collaborate with industry partners and university researchers.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a chemistry laboratory using a range of wet chemistry skills.
• Competent knowledge of health and safety and experience implementing safe systems and controls.
• Strong problem solving skills with experience implementing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support research activities in synthetic chemistry within a university department.
• Contribute to development of materials for sustainable agriculture and their interactions with plants.
• Collaborate with an industry partner and other researchers to progress projects.
