Job summary

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the MAGFFDDFT project. You will lead the overarching phase, applying ML and mathematical modelling to nonequilibrium processes and their applications.

You will develop models, publish results, mentor researchers, and collaborate across disciplines. The position is 24 months, with potential extension, based in South Kensington Campus.

Qualifications

• PhD in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or related field.
• Strong background in mathematical modelling and numerical methods.
• Desirable: PDEs / stochastic PDEs / stochastic processes, fluid dynamics or statistical physics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement models balancing theory and computation, with a move toward numerical solutions and ML deployment.
• Publish results in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
• Collaborate with the PI and mentor other researchers in the group.
