Overview

Research Associate in RNA Biology: Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the group of Professor Eric Miska in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge.

We are looking for an outstanding individual to lead research projects, which will help us solve key problems regarding the biology of RNA modifications and RNA structure in RNA-driven mechanisms of translational regulation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead research projects investigating RNA biology, RNA modifications, and RNA structure in translational regulation.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or in another related area.
  • Enthusiastic about collaborative and interdisciplinary research; adaptable to work in a multicultural environment; highly organized and capable of working under pressure.
  • Expertise in RNA molecular and structural biology, RNA-based viruses, and RNAseq data analysis.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python and R is desirable but not essential.
Terms

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available from 1st January 2026, until 31st December 2027, in the first instance.
