Job summary

Queen Mary University of London’s Bates Lab seeks a Research Associate to join an ARIA programme at the interface of robotics, quantum sensing and microbiology.

You will work with Bd inhibitory bacteria to test magnetic labelling methods, optimise magnetobiont tracking and contribute to experiments with collaborators at Sheffield University.

The role includes data analysis, guiding students and contributing to lab management.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in biological sciences or a similar quantitative science.
  • Wet lab experience including microbiology and molecular biology.
  • Experience in cell labelling methods is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work with an established library of Bd inhibitory bacteria to test and develop magnetic labelling methods.
  • Optimize magnetobiont tracking and recovery and contribute to experiments.
  • Collect data, conduct analyses, and develop experiments in collaboration with Sheffield University.
  • Provide guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students and contribute to general lab management.
