Economics Network seeks a Research Associate to lead experimental investigations in semiconductor spin control with quantum dots at the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge. You will work on coherent control and dynamical decoupling of electronic and nuclear spins in GaAs quantum dots, under Professor Dorian Gangloff.
Applicants should have a PhD in physics or a closely related field, with substantial experience in solid‑state spin qubits and quantum optics.
We are looking for a Research Associate in semiconductor spin control with quantum dots. Applicants should have significant experimental expertise in working with solid-state spin qubits and their coherent control, and quantum optics, ideally in semiconductor quantum dots.
The role is funded partly by the Integrated Quantum Networks Hub. The role holder will, together with a team of PhD students, design and carry out experimental investigations in coherent control and dynamical decoupling of electronic and nuclear spins in GaAs quantum dots, and contribute to the further development of our experimental setups towards quantum networking.
Applicants should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in physics or a related field. Appointment at Research Associate is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed at Research Assistant level and progress to Research Associate once the PhD is awarded.
The successful candidate will be based at the Cavendish Laboratory, Ray Dolby Centre, JJ Thomson Avenue, Cambridge CB3 0US, under the supervision of Professor Dorian Gangloff.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 9 months in the first instance.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be sent to Professor Dorian Gangloff, dag50@cam.ac.uk
